From Athlete to ACL Coach: My Journey to Empowering Your Comeback
From my earliest memories, movement has been my lifeblood. Growing up as a passionate athlete, I learned the grit, dedication, and mental toughness needed to excel on and off the field. My own experience playing Division III soccer at Ithaca College, where I proudly served as team captain, fueled a lifelong passion for sports and the intricacies of athletic performance.
But it wasn't just the game that shaped me, it was my drive to understand the science behind recovery. As I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist and Fellow of the Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, I witnessed a troubling pattern: too many athletes, especially ACLers, being sent back to the field prematurely.
The healthcare system often lacks the comprehensive, personalized care these athletes need. I knew there had to be a better way.
That’s why I founded Rival Rehab to offer more than just a standard recovery protocol. I believe every athlete deserves a recovery process tailored to their unique needs, challenges, and goals.
